Directions to Breakheart

From Dursley

From Castle Street, pass Sainsbury’s and the Leisure Centre on your right and go straight over the mini roundabout into May Lane. Pass the Bus Station and Library on your right and then follow the road round to the right, where it becomes Hill Road, passing The Old Spot pub on your right.

Continue up Hill Road as it swings round to the left and then right (it later becomes TheBroadway) to the very top of the hill, where you will come to a T junction. Turn left (if you turned right you would arrive at Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club) and pass along this lane for about half a mile. You will pass a lane going right to North Nibley and Waterley Bottoms. A couple of hundred metres later you will see a pair of metal gates on your right and a signboard (Breakheart Community Project) to the right of the gates and a pedestrian/disabled access gate to the left.

From North Nibley/Wotton under Edge

Driving from Wotton to North Nibley on the B4060, turn right at The Black Horse, into Barrs Lane. Passing out of the village, take the next left hand fork at Forthay. Pass through Forthay and stay on the left at the next triangle, passing Forthay Farm on your right. This road goes down through Crowell Brook and up the other side. At the next triangle turn right, passing through Millend and shortly after, take the left hand fork at the triangle, signposted Dursley and drive up Warren (or Warrend) Hill to the very top, where you turn right at the T junction. A couple of hundred metres later you will see a pair of metal gates on your right and a
signboard (Breakheart Community Project) to the right of the gates and a pedestrian/disabled access gate to the left.

From Cam and A38 (Cambridge) or Cam and Dursley Station

Take the A4135 road to Dursley, passing Rednock School on your left. Upon entering the town centre, turn right at the mini roundabout into May Lane.

A couple of hundred metres later you will see a pair of metal gates on your right and a signboard (Breakheart Community Project) to the right of the gates and a pedestrian/disables access gate to the left.

From Tetbury, Cirencester (A4135) or Nailsworth, Stroud (A46)

From Tetbury take the A4135 to Dursley. From Nailsworth, take the B4058 through Horsley until it joins the A4135, where you turn left. Then in all cases, follow the A4135 through the woods above Dursley. As the road starts to descend into the town, you will see the Dursley sign at the side of the road. Immediately afterwards take the left had fork, signposted Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club. After about a quarter of a mile you will see a pair of metal gates on your left and a signboard (Breakheart Community Project) to the right of the gates and a pedestrian/disabled access gate to the left.

Access to site
If there is a function on, the right hand gate will be open. Drive through this gate and follow the track through the site, through a wooden gate and round to the right, until you see a compound of buildings. Park outside this compound by the fence.
If the gate is not open you can still access the site at any time, using the pedestrian/disables access gate to the left of the main gates. Park your car outside the gates, ensuring that you do NOT park in front of the right hand gate, as access may be needed at any time. There is also plenty of room to park along the side of the lane, although it is advisable to keep to the Breakheart side only, to avoid blocking the lane.
